I've had a Brother printer with my desktop PC w/Linux for the last 8 years
and have no reason to complain. Configuration with CUPS was fairly
straightforward (easier than previous printers too). My newer thinkpad
(also w/linux) auto-discovers it on the network so I've had less of a setup
hassle with it.
