[Novalug] Windows-7 Update Frustrations (solved)

About a Year Ago (or maybe two...I asked the same question). Yeah, I
snooped around and did some Manual Updates and Patches to the Updater.
What FINALLY worked for me was to Leave Windows On "searching for
updates" for An Entire Weekend.
I was Starting From Scratch, and the Quadratic Nature of Patch
Dependency Checking, especially with a Large Initial Patch List just
might add to the Amazingly Long Times.
As far as M$ purposely making patches Difficult to Receive, consider
that most of their Patch Servers have probably been moved to serve
Windows 8 and 10.
