[Novalug] terminal mystery

If you're using bash, (the default shell in many distress) /etc/bash.bashrc or /etc/bashrc is the place to start. It's probably a typo in a line there, or in a script called from there. The .bashrc and .profile scripts in your home directory are also likely suspects.
