I used to say things like "oh the baby is crying, hold on." and then put 
the phone down until they hung up.

I am getting calls from some medical malpractice attorney's company 
where the call is so garbled that it sounds like someone speaking 
underwater and I can only understand one or two words in a 
sentence.
