A replacement for toxic lithium batteries.

Researcher has cross field interests in engineering and biology - called 
"Biological Systems Engineering".

My impression is that a lot of tech advances come not at the cutting 
edge of one field but in the intellectual cross fertilization of what may 
seem to be very different fields. A classic of this being the MRI and 
PET scan devices in medicine.

What do you all think?
