It definitely isn't personal, it has nothing to do with NOVALUG, it was primarily that finance was putting pressure on the events team to spend less money, and weekend events are pretty expensive. NOVALUG isn't the only group that ended up in this boat, but most of them were on the west coast.

For an idea of what it costs us to host every month, these are some of the things Palantir has been paying for every month for the last couple of years that we've been hosting:

• Overtime for the FacOps guys who setup and take down the presentation equipment.
• An extra guard to man the front door, since the building is locked on the weekends.
• Overtime HVAC (normally the building turns it way down on nights and weekends, but we didn't want to sweat you out).
• Catering for the breakfast and lunch that was provided.

The other big problem that we were facing us that we're going to be remodeling the 8th floor and demolishing that kitchen area.

If we could keep hosting we would (and we'll still host in October if Greg hasn't found a new spot by then. I'm trying to convince him to have the meetings at Nova Labs, which would be good for both of my favorite non-profits. ;)

Thanks to everyone who had space ideas and are checking with there employers or others.

It is not personal! My understanding is Palantir hired an events coordinator and the person and we were cut. We did nothing wrong. Speculating a weekend event has costs that a weekday doesn't (people) I expect.

So for those who seemed upset at Palantir, please don't be! We had an excellent home for a few years with great benefits (food and drink).

Thank you again to Palantir and Jason.

With the good (20 years!) comes the bad-- we need to find a new home.

I am checking out a space in Reston (hopefully) this week. If that
doesn't work, we will need a new space.

If you know of a free (or cheap space), CONTACT ME DIRECTLY.

Thanks
