[Novalug] internet name is corrupted during web browsing

resolv.conf

# DNS1=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
# DNS2=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
# DOMAIN=lab.foo.com bar.foo.com
nameserver 64.136.173.4 #kppp temp entry
nameserver 64.136.164.66        #kppp temp entry

------------------------------
I use kppp gui dialer.
I've used the gnome dialer in prev versions of Fedora with same result.

Basically, because of the name concat,
the DNS is unable to resolve a name, hence the FF browser
just sits there.  I can close tabs and reopen, same result.
Notable is that all the tabs have the same problem.

ip ( ifconfig )  still shows the "right stuff" for a ppp0 interface.

However, that gives me an idea: close out the whole browser,
although I doubt it will make a difference.  And it doesn't correct
anything.

What symptoms are you seeing of "name corruption"?  Does the website
not load in the browser?  Does the wrong website load?  Does the
website take unusually long to load?

When it's messing up, make a copy of your /etc/resolv.conf file and
post it here.

Also, when it's messing up, you could try replacing the contents of
/etc/resolv.conf with these two lines:

nameserver 208.67.222.222
nameserver 208.67.220.220

That will make your system use OpenDNS's nameservers, which I have
found to be way more reliable than any ISP's nameservers.
