[Novalug] Reminiscing about times I was too young to remember!

Definitely enjoyed FidoNet. Enjoyed dialing in to my favorite BBS node
each evening and checking to see what rounds of dialing hops my messages
had made.

Logged into several BBS back then mostly WWIV boards played several turn
based games like TradeWars. Even ran a BBS for my highschool, but it
was some crappy little used software that I can't even remember the name
of. Even recall using the same machine that hosted the BBS to try this
new thing, applying for college (Georgia Tech) via "Online" form, i.e.
dialup modem driven menu system. Accepted but went somewhere else.

Was pretty good with ANSI art and animation, got me sysadmin privileges
on several boards cause they loved my work (and unfortunately I've lost
that skill). Was on one board that was a little less reputable to the
authorities, but oddly enough I wasn't into the warez as much as the
information on cracking/hacking available. Good late night reads.

Slowest modem I was forced to deal with was 2400 baud. Towards the end
of my BBS days they had just gotten up to ~28.6kbit/s. Wow that was
quick :-).

Ah memories....

Cheers,
David
