Miles,

Just an FYI, I am now a RedHat Certified Engineer. *grin*

Jeremy,

I don’t think I ever answered your question, almost everybody I interacted with took the RedHat classes, which from what I can tell are fantastic. However they are rather expensive (If you are paying out of pocket). I have over ten years of linux dabbling under my belt and I’ve worked as a Linux SA for half of that. They are only two things I used to help me study RHCSA/RHCE Study Guide by Michael Jang, great book but more importantly I learn by doing and implementing. I have a home network that I spin up vm’s (sometimes not) and configure things I would use; i.e. ad auth git repo to hold all my config files, it may be rather elaborate for what I use it for but it helps me learn.

Next on the list, network services exam, time to ditch Windows AD and migrate to RedHat directory server and *cringe* Kerberos.

Dan

Speaking of the exam, I have my RHCSA and RHCE scheduled for February 24th and this is the first time I'm taking them, any study suggestions? I've gone through all the study material on the website, I can comfortably do 85% of the tasks. Right now I'm just going through and playing around with commands, getting more comfortable with luks, selinux and just stuff I don’t use on a daily basis. Thanks for any advice.
