Yes, but it's also a Lot of Work...and there is no guarantee that other 
stuff (newer RPMs) will drop in (come to think of it...now you have NO 
Package Management).

And I was very disappointed with "how much you can learn". Many things 
were glossed over, or just stated "as is" without telling you WHY, (such 
as the compiler config files). Anyone who spent any time compiling GNU 
software under Solaris/HP-UX/Irix/etc at the end of the last millennium 
would know pretty much the same things that you learn from LFS.

There isn't THAT much difference between Minimal and Reasonably Small.
