Very little has changed.

EU is trying 'chip and pin', but Adam Laurie (aka Major Malfunction) has
already demonstrated the flaws in that at DefCon.

Most of the static number cards can be duplicated or emulated. Even some of
the crypto cards have been broken.

Even the E-Passport system has been shown to have implementation flaws that
allow a fake passport to be used.
