Most systems I've seen allow 3 DNS name services. So you could
have 2 from the same source and an outside one. If one of your
DNS nameservers is your router, then it is probably using 2 of
your ISP's servers already.
One thing that could be hurt by having multiple nameservers is
the length of time for queries that ultimately fail, either
because servers are down or the requested site did not exist.
