Right. Exactly. That is exactly that which happened here, too. Years
ago, the NoVA LUG set up a second list for scheduling meetings _other
than_ the monthly meetings. Then, months (or years?) later, when other
NoVA LUG participants began organizing so-called "hands-on" (H-O)
meetings and posted announcements regarding these H-O meetings to _this_
list, I recommended that the discussion be moved to the new, second
list. What effect do you think my recommendation had? None. My
recommendation was ignored.

I am wondering whether there is a Drupal module for integrating mailing
lists with web forums. I think that I may have asked this question
before. I cannot remember. If such a module exists, and if it is not too
hard to install and configure, then it might be possible to direct OT
discussion to the web forum. Just a thought.
Another thought: if it were possible for non-administrative users to
create polls on Drupal, then I could have asked my question (regarding
jobs and security clearances) thereon by creating a Drupal poll and
directing others to the web page that contained the poll. Furthermore, I
might have gotten more useful replies to my question.
