[Novalug] Proposed Oct Meeting Topic: iPhone Development

iPhone development itself is Mac only, but the iPhone libraries and
ObjectiveC frameworks are derived from Cocoa, which are themselves
derived from NeXT's OpenSTEP. The current FOSS version would be
GNUStep.

The presentation would start with a tutorial of Objective-C, the low
level classes such as NSObject, memory management and software
architecture and how they apply the MVC model. This would apply to
both GNUStep and Mac/iPhone programming.

As for the concrete creation of an iPhone app, I can walk a group
through creating a basic application in the class. I'm not familiar
enough, nor confident enough in the stability of the GNUStep
libraries, to do so with GNUStep.
