Depending on what you use the box for, it might bog down its
responsiveness. I had to do that when one of the drives in my web
server died and I couldn't get hold of a fast enough drive for the
array. Anything more intensive than running a text editor was
frustratingly slow.
Save yourself the trouble and match the drive speeds.
