[Novalug] OT: FiOS, STB and your router

It so happens I had to set up vpn through an actiontec router today for a customer. I found this guide to put the actiontec router in bridged mode, which gives the device behind it a direct internet address:

http://agaric.com/note/how-setup-linksys-router-verizon-fios

I ended up not using it. After trying everything and failing to get the actiontec router to port forward, I selected the reset to default menu option, re-entered the port forwarding settings, and suddenly everything I did started working..

Igor

1) There is an ethernet jack and when the old router died, I had them switch over to my router.

2) they sent their router and put moca back

3) figured out how to forward all services to my box, so not as worried about getting off moca for now as it is working
