I originally had the Intrepid build for the x86 architecture installed,
but I opted to reinstall with the amd64 version about a week and a half
ago, to see if it would alleviate a driver (ALSA) issue. It did not. I
am currently running the adobe flash plugin and it seems to be working
fine; however, it certainly hasn't undergone any extensive, rigorous
testing. Honestly, I am really indifferent about which one I am
running, but the x64 architecture does enable all 16 registers and
provide a few other benefits. For what I generally use my desktop for
this is probably not a big deal, and I am currently only running with 3
gig of RAM, which is accessible from both versions. I haven't seen any
issues that I have found to be 64 specific, but I am in the process of
compiling a list of issues that need to be addressed. Hopefully, this
weekend I will have the time to dedicate to this research.
