Hi Paul:

There's a couple of issues here, being inclusive and keeping things on-topic. Novalug has a history of being very open. Questions/comments from newcomers to seasoned experts have been welcomed. A consequence of that is there can occasionally be more noise than signal.

We've discussed ways to cut the noise level down, opting against a separate list. I do appreciate the scripting questions and answers, and enjoy new flags to old commands for example, though I pass over opinion and things that Google can answer.

There are very good people on this list who have a great wealth of knowledge. Many don't answer "noisy" questions, and some do. Perhaps we can politely steer noisy questions to Google or elsewhere in favor of helping people be self-sufficient, and try to foster some of the discussion that "used to be".

Thanks,
-A. Dave
