By the way, take a look at man -k .  It wouldn't have helped in this situation 
(just tried it), but it lets you search the manpages.  And someone's going to 
come along and says "apropros does that too!" so I'm going to beat them to the 
punch.  Yes, you can search with either "man -k" or with "apropos", it's up to 
you.
