Hello all,
I've got a project coming up where I need the ability to encode video
(don't care about audio). MPEG4 is my desire. I'm currently trying to get
infos on these boxes I see on eBay from China.
The handoff can be USB (to linux) or ethernet. It has to be encoded in
hardware (the system it will be attached to is 200mhz ARM processor, 2.4
Kernel, ouch!).
Also, the smaller the better.
Anyone know of anything? There are these USB dongles all over eBay but
they are windows based in software. There is the elgato thing for the mac,
but I believe it's just a co-processor, and doesn't contain the composite
capture hardware.
The ultimite destination for the hardware is in a model plane, in the
sky. So power consumption and weight is a big deal (can't strap a Tivo to
it!).
