Roger quotes some caveats from the Linux Journal article, but didn't
make clear that these apply only to the "open source edition".

If you simply download and install the provided binaries, you'll get
the non-Free parts that do all that. Those parts are "free beer" for
most uses short of full commercial deployment. Their license is looser
than most.

That said, over the years I haven't had the impression that NOVALUG
members who care about Free Software are particularly numerous; most
seem to focus on whether it's gratis. Add to that the fact that if you
want the latest "OSE" version you have to compile it yourself and it's
a cinch that most of us will use the not-quite-free binaries.

Ted, who still appreciates innotek's decision to free VirtualBox, even
if it's only the "stale bread" model.
