[Novalug] computer hangs up

Thanks for all the suggestions. My computer is still locking up in Fedora
8, but running in Win2000. I looked at the xorg.conf file, there was no
module section to edit. I removed the gnome-screensaver and any others I
found with "yum remove". The running of memtest from a bootable CD locked
up, I checked the disk at work and it ran fine. It is actually getting
shorter between login and lockup. So anything I try now has to be quick -
less than a minute to set up.

I noticed in Windows that the time is no longer correct, so I opined the
battery might be fading. I removed it last night and tested it with a
multimeter, it gives 3 volts which is the rating on it. I'll reinsert when
I get home tonight. Will a bad CMOS or battery cause the lock up in Fedora,
but not in Win2000?
