I am trying to install xubuntu on an old PII sony Vios pc, it has a
pII 233Mhz processor and 128MB of ram, It took me 6 hours of going
through junk parts to get it a 14 GB drive and 128 MB ram that it
would actually recognize. It has another drive with win95 and lots of
fancy video card/ tv tuner stuff that was snazzy in the back when and
I know I will probably not find half the drivers It needs. When I boot
from the xubuntu cd, it looks like it's going to install, then it says
something about Bios failed APCM check, bios 1997: cutoff 2000 then it
continues but comes up to a command prompt that says (initramfs) in a
busybox shell. Is this a deal breaker? can I proceed with the
install in the shell? What commands do I need? is (inintramfs) the
suggestion of the default command to run? like initialize ram
filesystem?

I am trying to make this thing usable so my neighbors Burmese foster
child can use it for Rosetta Stone language lessons online. Thanks.
