[Novalug] T61 laptop

No, you're not wrong.  I have a dell d820 w/ 4Gb, I'm running Gentoo
amd64, and I only see just over 3.  There's a bios patch out I haven't
applied yet to bump it up to something like 3.2 or so (don't recall).
Point is, you need both an OS that can use it /and/ a bios that will let
you see it all.

Why would they put 4Gb in a machine that doesn't have a bios that can
see it all?  Because it's more efficient to put in 2 2Gb sticks than a 2
and a 1, or something like that.
