Hi,

I've got a networked Canon imageRunner 8500 which only seems to
cooperate fully with the Codehost BrightQ software. Or, at least it
did until Gutsy. The introduction of AppArmor seems to have borked
it.

Now, after several days of further borking it, I no longer get errors
when I try to print, but the print job just disappears. I can
communicate with the printer via a web browser, the Codehost client,
or kprint, and all of them show that a job has been sent, is being
processed, and then goes away. The status then says "completed".
However, nothing comes out the other end. Codehost's client verifies
that the printer at the end of the IP address is a Canon imageRunner
8500, which I believe is the only one on campus. (The configuration
sheet also prints that address.) Both the driver and the printer
itself say that it can handle lpd, socket (9100), and ipp (631)
connections. I think I've always had it working w/ 9100 in the past,
but I tried the other two in desperation. No joy.

No errors in /var/log/cups/error_log (or anywhere else that I can
see). There was some indication that the problems originally had
something to do with AppArmor, but I don't think that's still the
case.

Are there any wise souls who've seen this before?
