[Novalug] upload problems...

This is a bit puzzling to me and I'm hesitant to call Cox support, until I have more concrete information to go on. Starting yesterday, my internet connect started getting flaky when doing uploads. Downloads weren't really affected, but as it is now, I'm not able to do any uploading, all packets get lost. I'm not sure if the issue is on my internal network or if it's a Cox issue. I can run a speed test, but the upload portion of the speed test never completes. It seems I can send a packet but I never get a response, so it eventually times out.

My set up is this...

I have my cable modem plugged in to a netgear rp614 router, I then have an old PII 384M machine acting as a further firewall/dns/router for my internal network. I have a second NIC in the machine for my internal network.

On my internal network, I have no problems. it's only on the internet side of it. I have tried removing the rp614 and hooking the cable modem directly to my firewall machine, but I get the same results. I am at a loss in figuring out what else to check for.

As I said, downloads are not an issue... it's only uploads that are affect. Nothing has changed on my side of things. Recently Cox was in the neighborhood doing somthing to the lines, but I don't know what. Their support is next to useless, so I'm hesitant to call them until I have more concrete information as to what's going on.

Any help in how to debug would be helpful,

Thanks,

Jonathan
