     My experience has been that many of the YaST repositories out there
can also be used in YUM. (I would not be surprised in the least to find
out that YaST uses the same repository data that YUM does.) The
OpenSuSE website has this list of additional repositories:

<http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories>

What I do is look for the "repodata" subdirectory in the repository
structure. For instance, the above URL leads one to use

<http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.2/repo/oss/>

for one of the SuSE Linux 10.2 installation sources. Looking there, one
has to go into the "suse" subdirectory to find the "repodata"
subdirectory. So, one would put this into their YUM repository file:

<http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.2/repo/oss/suse/>

     One puts YUM repository files in "/etc/yum.repos.d" Since YUM is
primarily used to update Fedora and CentOS distributions, I would be
surprised if there wasn't a good resource out there, somewhere, on
setting up YUM repositories. I've never bothered searching for it,
though, having instead taken a pre-existing repository file and
modifying it to use the source I want.
     Attached is an example YUM repo file for OpenSuSE 10.1, which
includes the open source packages, the non-open source packages and
updates. My example uses the OpenSusE and SuSE FTP sites; in actuality
one should probably find & use a mirror of those servers.
