The two cylinders of the European integration engine, France and Germany, continue to have double-digit unemployment, hovering anywhere between 10 and 11 per cent.  

Among workers aged 18-25, that unemployment shoots up to something like 40 percent.

No big deal, though:  the state pays for their Gauloises, which they puff in suitably fashionable style at demonstrations against "unjust" first-employment contracts.  Never mind that they are demonstrating against employment conditions for jobs they *don't even have.*
