If an outside wireless feed, Verizon, etc., can be received. Can the connection be placed on an ethernet feed, then to a wireless router?

This keeps everyone off of CSC's network.

The LUG users camp out on a wireless feed that is available inside CSC building, but does not use CSC's network in any way shape or form.

One laptop receives and processes the connection to wireless internet.
The laptop connects the ethernet to a wireless router(s).
Others can connect thru the wireless encrypted broadcast.

Sounds like a nice project to design, build, implement, and test at a NoVaLUG meeting.

This would be a great project for emergency services for home, national emergencies, etc. Probably a great idea for a website, mag article, or a live linux CD to create one. (Specify the type of PC/laptop, comm card such as EVDO, and the wireless router.)
  '
Me do it? Nah, Im a mere "tester". But Id be glad to break it... after its built.
