[Novalug] distro choice for hosting VMware for linux challenged DR

Haven't looked at 4.0 yet have you?  The OSS version doesn't really have 
management tools, they are included in the commercial versions, but 
again, even the free version has the management tools, and they are 
damned nice.

You are correct about the hardware, though.  Xen likes new technology. 
4.0 requires 64-bit hardware.  If you have 32-bit hardware, you can 
still run 3.2, and they will support that for a while.  Non Intel-VT or 
AMD-V chips will run paravirtualized linux flavors just fine, but not 
windows.  Chips you want for that function are on their hardware 
compatibility list.
